How to Incorporate This Year’s Pantone Color into Your Wedding

Every Pantone Color of the Year is amazing in its own way – from the Masala that continues to be popular even a few years after it was declared “Color of the Year” to the 2018 Ultra Violet, all Pantone’s choices are truly amazing.

If, however, you are in love with the Ultra Violet they proposed for this year, you will definitely love the idea of incorporating it into your Big Day. How to do that in a classy, beautiful way? We have some suggestions for you – so read on and find out more.

  •       Sweets. Add a bit of violet to your sweets and you will definitely love the effect it creates. For instance, a white wedding cake with violet flowers or violet designs on it will look absolutely amazing. And if you want to add something extra sweet and nice to the mix, why not offer guests rock candy in amethyst colors? They will be more than impressed.
  •        Drinks. Of course, you can add Ultra Violet to your drinks as well! For instance, you could create a wedding signature cocktail with Blue Curacao and cranberry juice – the color will be very close to Pantone’s 2018 choice, and it will look really, really beautiful!
  •         Flowers. There’s an abundance of purple flowers you can use with your Ultra Violet wedding color scheme – and yes, they’re available in most seasons, so you won’t have to worry about this in any way. Your bouquet and décor will be infused with purple energy from these stunning blooms!

Are There Any Winter Alternatives to Peonies?

Peonies have slowly grown to be among the most popular wedding flowers. Truly, they are delicate and beautiful, and they have a very festive feeling about them that makes them perfect for such happy, unforgettable events.

What happens if your wedding is set during the winter or fall, though, when peonies are not as widely available – and more expensive?

We have some tips to help you with this – so read on and learn about some of the loveliest winter alternatives to peonies.

  • English roses. Perhaps one of the best replacements for the classic peonies, English roses come in a very large variety of colors, making them easy to coordinate with a lot of wedding color schemes. Moreover, they’re available throughout the entire cool season – so you will not have issues finding them at decent prices.
  • Chrysanthemums. This is a fall flower by definition, and you will see it included in autumn weddings quite often. A bloom filled with energy and beautiful simplicity, it is truly a great choice – especially if you’re just looking for something to “buff” your peony bouquet in a non-expensive way.
  • Double flowering tulips. Elegant in their pure simplicity, tulips are always an amazing choice for brides. Double flowering tulips, however, strike the perfect balance between sophistication and opulence – and they are widely available during the fall as well. Therefore, they make for excellent peony replacements, precisely because they have the same ruffled, rich look (but they are far more affordable during the cold season).

When Should You Have Your Wedding?

Setting a wedding day is extremely important because it will influence every single part of the wedding planning. Before you get to a particular date, though, you should first find the right season for you and your Big Day.

How to do that? We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

  • Your budget will have a say in this. If you have a restricted budget, our advice is to set a wedding season outside of the most popular ones (spring and summer). From September to March, prices for venues and vendors tend to be lower – and you can still plan a truly dreamy wedding in these months as well.
  • Of course, you should LIKE the season you choose for your wedding. If you are a person who loves warmth and sunshine and set a wedding date in full November, you might feel that it’s not like you have always wanted it to be. You could, for example, have a March wedding or a September wedding instead (if budget is an issue).
  • Last, but definitely not least, consider the wedding style you want as well. For instance, if you want to have an outdoor rustic wedding, doing this in the winter may be a lot more difficult than doing it in any other season. Likewise, if you want to wear a strapless wedding dress made from veil and lace, you might find that it’s not a feasible option for a chilly month of December…

Yes, You Can Definitely Serve Comfort Foods at Your Wedding!

Weddings have changed quite a lot in the past couple of decades – especially from the point of view of how casual they can be today. Sure, you can have a totally mindblowing, elegant wedding – but if you want something more relaxed and intimate, there are a lot of casual wedding ideas you can definitely incorporate into your Big Day.

Comfort foods are among some of the very best wedding ideas these days. Why? We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

  •        Everyone loves them. Name someone who doesn’t love a good bowl of mac and cheese, who doesn’t want to indulge in overly syrup-y pancakes, or who doesn’t enjoy a perfectly well-made burger. If you thought more than 5 minutes about this, it is more than likely that everyone at your wedding will love your comfort food ideas.
  •         They are easy to serve. Of course, there are a thousand ways to present a burger, but beyond that, finding vegetarian, lactose-free or gluten-free replacements or alternatives for comfort foods is fairly easy. That happens because these foods are so widely known that people have adapted to the different special diets as well.
  •        They are inexpensive. If you want to save money on your wedding menu and not sacrifice your guests’ satisfaction, this is the way to do it. Serving different types of comfort food can be a truly budget-savvy choice, even when you go for the higher-end ingredients!

Steal Inspiration from Pinterest for Your 2018 Wedding

Undoubtedly, Pinterest is one of the main sources of inspiration for brides-to-be everywhere. With so many ideas flowing and connecting to each other, though, it can be quite difficult to spot the ones that are really noteworthy.

So, what are some of the most popular Pinterest ideas for your 2018 wedding? We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

  •        Mixing metals. Gold, silver, and copper have been around for quite a while in the wedding décor landscape – but most of the times, they just get combined with other (usually neutral) colors. This year, though, metallic colors are getting mixed among each other – and it looks so much better than you could ever imagine!
  •        Mixing seasons. A spring wedding in December? A fall wedding in March? Yes, this is all really trendy right now – and it can be pulled off with plenty of imagination and creativity. You just need to bring in classic “seasonal” pieces of décor and re-adapt them to the season you’re actually having your wedding in (e.g. using pink pumpkins instead of their natural colors).
  •      Mocktails. There are a thousand reasons to love a good mocktail – so why not incorporate it into your wedding? You could make this a replacement for cocktails, or a compliment (for guests who don’t drink alcohol, or are too young to do so, for example). Either way, we guarantee a lot of your guests will be delighted with the idea!
