When Should You Have Your Wedding?

Setting a wedding day is extremely important because it will influence every single part of the wedding planning. Before you get to a particular date, though, you should first find the right season for you and your Big Day.

How to do that? We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

  • Your budget will have a say in this. If you have a restricted budget, our advice is to set a wedding season outside of the most popular ones (spring and summer). From September to March, prices for venues and vendors tend to be lower – and you can still plan a truly dreamy wedding in these months as well.
  • Of course, you should LIKE the season you choose for your wedding. If you are a person who loves warmth and sunshine and set a wedding date in full November, you might feel that it’s not like you have always wanted it to be. You could, for example, have a March wedding or a September wedding instead (if budget is an issue).
  • Last, but definitely not least, consider the wedding style you want as well. For instance, if you want to have an outdoor rustic wedding, doing this in the winter may be a lot more difficult than doing it in any other season. Likewise, if you want to wear a strapless wedding dress made from veil and lace, you might find that it’s not a feasible option for a chilly month of December…

A Few Drops of Rain Won’t Ruin Your Big Day

For many brides, rain is one of the absolute worst things that could happen on their Big Day. When you look at this situation through pink-colored glasses, though, you will find that things are not as bad as they seem.

What is there to know about coping with rain on your wedding day? Here are some tips to keep in mind:

  • You cannot control it – so why stress over it? Summer, fall, winter or spring – rain could pop up as an uninvited guest at any point during the year. Take it as it is – this may actually be the only thing you cannot plan months in advance.
  • Be ready. Planning an outdoor event? Have a plan B in store, just in case rain decides to pour down on your guests. A wedding tent is a really great solution for outdoor weddings on a damp day – so make sure to have one prepared.
  • Make guests feel cozy. Rain has started? Make guests forget about it! Provide them with excellent foods, hot chocolate to warm up and a huge smile every time you see someone joining in on the dance floor – they will completely forget about the rain.
  • Make yourself feel great. Put on a pair of colored, fun wellington boots and take out your chic umbrella – it’s time to shoot some fun rainy wedding pictures! The right photographer can turn these into works of art, so don’t be afraid to have some real fun with this shooting!

Your Out of Town Guests Will Be So Happy If You Do These Things!

Inviting out of town guests is a great thing to do if you want these people to be by your side on your Big Day. However, it comes with a certain kind of responsibility – especially if you know these people haven’t visited your wedding location before.

How to make your out of town guests feel really happy with your wedding day? We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

  •      Arrange their transportation. A shuttle bus to take your guests to and from the airport, as well as to and from the wedding ceremony and reception – now, that’s something your guests will definitely appreciate! Moreover, you will also make sure they aren’t late for the wedding – so it’s a win-win situation, really.
  •      Offer them accommodation options. You are not obliged to pay for your out of town guests’ accommodation. However, you should do everything in your power to make this trip feel as smooth as possible for them. Offer them a list of accommodation options, so that they can choose whatever suits their style and budget.
  •      Welcome them with a pretty gift. A welcome bag or box can really put a smile on your guests’ faces! You don’t even have to go overboard with this: a basket filled with delicious local goodies (such as a special type of honey you can only find in that area) will definitely satisfy your out of town friends and relatives!

What guests dislike about weddings

The last thing you want at your wedding are guests that don’t enjoy themselves – so you will want to do everything you can to make sure everyone’s happy at your big day. What are the things guests dislike most about weddings? We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

  •        Weddings that take place during three-day weekends. It may sound like a really amazing idea to have a three-day weekend wedding, but it is more than likely that a lot of guests will have other plans for that min-vacation. Avoid these weekends for your big day – and if you absolutely must have your wedding on a national holiday weekend, be sure to let everyone know about it long before the big day arrives.
  •        Receiving lines. Everyone hates these – so why have them anyway? We all know wedding etiquette is much more relaxed these days, so you can definitely skip the traditional receiving line and simply meet and greet everyone at their tables. It saves time, creates a much warmer and welcoming atmosphere, and it helps you re-organize your wedding day schedule in a way that’s genuinely enjoyable.
  •        Bad directions to/from your wedding venue and ceremony site. You really don’t want your guests to go MIA as a result of your bad directions – so it’s highly advisable that you do everything in your power to make sure they can easily reach all points of interest. Maps, pictures, directions, GPS coordinates – they can all help. Furthermore, asking someone to actually “test” the instructions will surely help you spot any potential errors.

Don’t have any regrets about your wedding

There’s nothing bitterer than regretting anything at your wedding. Given that this is an unrepeatable event in your life, regrets are not invited on the guest list – but how do you make sure they really stay away from all the happiness associated with the Big Day?

  • We have gathered some of the things many couples regret not doing for their weddings – so read on and inspire yourself from their experiences.
  •  Not investing in a high-quality photographer and a talented DJ. These people are the brick and mortar of any successful wedding. The first will capture the beauty and emotion of the Big Day, while the second will make sure you and all of your guests are having the time of your lives. Yes, it is very important to invest in amazing services here!
  • Not taking a few minutes off to spend with your SO. This is your wedding day and getting away for a couple of minutes is more than alright. Spend a bit of time together to share all the wonderful emotions you’re experiencing now – you will remember these moments with more candor than anything else.
  • Not attending the beauty trials. No matter how experienced and famous a wedding hairstylist or makeup artist may be, they cannot simply figure it out on the spot. So, if you want your bridal look to be really amazing, do make sure to attend your beauty trials. This is where you will establish if your style is well-suited for you, and make all necessary adjustments to make sure you feel fantastic on your Big Day.

The 5 Things Your Wedding Planner Need to Know About You

Hiring a wedding planner is an excellent move for those who want their Big Day to be flawless from its very beginning to its very end. And while it is definitely important that you research your vendor and know exactly who you are hiring, it is also crucial that they know a fair handful of things about you. Here are the top 5 most important things your wedding planner needs to know about you:
·
  •     Your budget. Don’t even start talking wedding style and theme before you lay out your budget. A professional wedding planner will listen and she will know exactly what can be done for your budget and how to maximize its power.
  •        Your likes. Of course, your wedding planner should know what you like, what are the things that mean a lot to you and what are those wedding elements you will never want to give up on. This way, she will know how to design a plan that makes you really happy with the end result.
  •        Your dislikes. That awful song that reminds you of when you got your heart broken? The irritating color you could never stand? Tell your wedding planner about all these dislikes you don’t want into your wedding and she’ll make sure these elements have no room in your Big Day.
  •     Your level of involvement. Some couples prefer a more hands-on approach, while others leave it all in the hands of their wedding planner. What type of bride and groom are you? Your wedding planner needs to know this!
  •       How you prefer to communicate. Do you text? Email? Call? Your wedding planner wants to know this so that you maintain proper communication with her. Talk to her about your preferred means of communication!

The Hard Truths of Wedding Planning

Hiring the best planner and vendors is crucial for the success of the Big Day. And while they will all be more than eager to make you happy, it is also important that you know what your expectations should be.

  • What are the wedding planning things nobody actually tells you? We have gathered some of the hard truths of wedding planning – so read on and find out more.
  • You cannot make emergency calls to your planner and vendors all day long. In truth, there are very few issues that actually require an “emergency call”. Of course, your wedding planner will share your sadness if one of the bridesmaids can’t make it to the wedding, and they’ll be there to jot down small changes you make along the way. However, most of these things can be communicated via email – so calling your vendors or planner for them may not be an efficient idea.
  • Wedding planners and wedding vendors like holidays too. So finding good ones during the busiest times of the year might get more difficult than you think – and those who will be available are entitled to charge more. After all, you don’t want to be in the office on the 25th of December either – don’t you?
  • You cannot complain to your wedding planner for every fight you have with your fiancĂ©, or for every quarrel you have with the Mother in Law. Your wedding planner is there to counsel you and offer you advice, but she cannot be your best friend and professional service provider all at once.

Tips to staying sane during the wedding planning

We all know just how hectic and downright stressful wedding planning can be. Yet, you should always remind yourself that you are doing this for a day of joy and happiness – and you should be able to enjoy it, instead of being too tired or anxious over everything that happened during the wedding planning process.

  • How to stay sane during the wedding planning? We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.
  • First and foremost, don’t feel pressured to plan the wedding in a certain amount of time. Take as much time as you need it – some of you may be perfectly fine with a 1-year engagement, while others may need longer.
  • Do whatever makes you feel good. A large part of the pressure experienced by brides and grooms is due to an archaic set of rules everyone feels they must follow. Sure, many wedding etiquette tips make perfect sense even in today’s world – but there are still a lot of things you can simply do your own way.
  • Relax. You need this – you need to take some time off every now and again and ensure you are getting the relaxation you need. Date nights, pampering at the spa, or simply spending an evening with Netflix and your loved one – they can all help you control the stress and feel better about the entire wedding planning process.
  • Don’t do it all alone. You are just one human being, and there are many around you who will be more than happy to lend you a helpful hand. Delegate some of the tasks to your Maid of Honor, fiancĂ©, mother, bridesmaids, and anyone else who wants to help.
